Showcasing Strawflowers

Published on 23 March 2024 at 18:28

These are one of the most unique flowers that I have grown, they are absolutely beautiful and so fun, they have a papery feel, they call them the forever flower and are great for making dried flower arrangements, florists love them because they add color to cut flower arrangements all through the year. I love to dry them and store them in an old mason jar and just set it in a shelf, mine in this picture is a Perfect Mason, it has bubbles in the glass, I don’t know how old it, but it has a chip in the top so I use it for decoration. As far as medicinal properties you can make an oil infusion  to help with aging skin, I will be making a blog post on that in the future. For this showcase I am going to make a primitive flower ball for hanging in a quaint little spot or for a sweet gift for someone special

What you need

A round ornament (a good time to use one of the ugly ones from your Christmas stash)

Dried Strawflowers

Hot glue

A ribbon for hanging

A stick for hanging

Hot glue the flowers evenly around the ball, putting smaller ones in to fill gaps, when you get them all in place and the glue is dry you can trim them with scissors to make it a more rounded shape. Tie a small bow and hot glue it to the top, make a loop to hang it with, it is a simple project but it looks so beautiful.
